Scientific Expedition

The Scientific Expedition is a short course based on a combination of learning and experiencing. A strong team of shark biologists and handlers will share their knowledge with you, and you spend a week diving, experiencing and watching these animals with your own eyes.

The course lasts one week. Days are spent at sea Great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias) cage diving and surface viewing, and evenings are spent participating in discussions and listening to talks on various aspects of the Great white shark.

There is also a chance to snorkel with Cape fur seals (Arctocephalus pusillus). The Expedition is kept up-to-date and changes are made according to new findings, theories, experiences and happenings. The course is open to between 8 and 14 participants (but we can cater for larger groups if needed).

The group is together all week, and good friendships are forged through this fantastic experience. The group is placed in the same accommodation. Clients do not need to be scuba qualified to participate in this course (cage diving and seal snorkeling) unless they wish to participate in extra dives not on the itinerary, in which case clients will have to be qualified to Open Water level.
